I recently planned to run Hemers Agent, so I installed Arch Linux on my computer along with 1Panel. At first, there were no issues using it, but!—I must emphasize the “but”—after the computer sat idle for a while and I ran a system update, problems arose: the 1Panel service failed to auto-start on boot. I had to reinstall 1Panel, but that still didn’t fix the problem. Now I’ll never dare install Arch Linux on a server again…
I usually install the Debian/Ubuntu series on my servers.
Haven’t had any major issues so far.
One feature of Arch Linux is its rolling release model, which provides access to the latest software but does not guarantee the security of server software. Once a vulnerability is discovered in a newly released version and that version enters the Arch Linux repositories, your server could potentially become a compromised machine.
